Cancer-Could the Cure be in the Cause?

As breast cancer awareness month fast approaches, many people will be thinking of loved ones lost to this horrible disease. Many will ask themselves how in the world their mom or their aunt could have contracted this terminal condition. In addition to that, many will question how a society so advanced could still not have a cure for one of the top leading killers in our country. There is yet another question that should be posed during this time of cancer awareness: could the cause be in the cure?

According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer is a term for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues. Our bodies are designed to control all cell division; so in order for cancer to occur, the body’s mechanism of control must be malfunctioning. Fortunately there are things we can do to keep our systems running efficiently.

Some have made the claim that sugar feeds cancer. This may sound outrageous, but one of our best tools for measuring cancer activity proves that CANCER HAS A SWEET TOOTH! PET scans use radioactively labeled sugar to detect sugar-craving tumor cells. Patients are given a sugary mixture of through an IV and then scanned to see the activity of tumor cells feasting on the sugary treat. Decreasing refined sugar intake, robs cancer of its favorite food.

Exercise has been shown to increase immune function, antioxidant defense, hormone levels, circulation, cardiovascular, and lung capacity. It is important for all of us to make exercise a part of our weekly routines. Studies show that high intensity short duration exercise is best.

Chiropractic Care and Adjustments

The relationship between the nervous system and immune system is undeniable. Chiropractic care and adjustments not only balance the nervous system, but also have a positive effect on the immune system. Our immune system is our body’s natural defense against all diseases – including cancer. A chiropractor utilizes a different approach to traditional medicine, encompassing techniques that have to do with muscular and cellular stimulation and deep tissue massage. Adjustments in the back and spine also help relieve nerve pain and damage – known to promote healthy cellular growth which is imperative in cancer patients.
